Jack is a wonderful, loving companion. Always anxious to please, he is house trained and knows basic commands. He would be happiest as the only pet in the house. Jack gets along with other dogs and we don't know about cats. He is a jagdterrier and has a very strong hunting instinct. He needs to run : so a fenced in dog park would be ideal or a large fenced back yard.. ( Running besides you on a bike will not work) Jack is not a city dog and would find the noise/traffic deafening and upsetting. Because of his strong personality, Jack would do best in a childless home or with children over 12. He is not a retriever and does not like to swim. Jack likes nothing better than snuggling on your lap and having his belly rubbed. He is a quirky 29 lb boy with lots of love to give. He is waiting patiently for the right people to adopt him. This organization is run by volunteers only and we try our best to save as many homeless pets as possible. Since there are only a few volunteers, please understand that we are unable to answer phone calls about the animals. The first step is to fill out an adoption application which you can find on the Pet Rescue website: www.ny-petrescue.org and we will contact you as soon as possible, usually within 5 days. Pet Rescue doesn't have a shelter where you can come and meet the dogs. All showings are by appointment after your application has been approved. If you have any questions, please email us.
